Having someone to turn to during production when you are having a difficult time is something I believe is extremely important. Not only can coaching sessions help with any personal issues, or transitioning into and out of character for actors, larger mediation groups can prevent emotional turmoil, disagreements and anxiety leading to a tense set and a loss of time and money.
I have a unique background that lends itself seamlessly to coaching and providing mediation on-set. I have a decade's worth of experience in the film industry working both locally and internationally in different departments on-set, in production and management offices, as a personal assistant to talent, and as a producer. This experience gives me the tools necessary to personally understand life on-set and within this industry so that the unique issues arising from that space are looked through an industry specific lens. I can help with adjusting to life in a foreign place during filming, maintaining health and wellness through demanding work schedules, supporting parents in navigating work and fame for child actors, and I also understand the psychology behind actors and how it can be helpful for them to have some guidance and grounding in the portrayal of their role.
The approach I take in creating on-set harmony is through my training as a mindfulness coach. I use techniques to help others regulate their nervous system in order to calm their system down and get in control of their reactions. This allows for more productive communication and teamwork as well as serving as a tool to lower overall stress and anxiety. I am also able to teach a course on mindfulness to all cast and crew if desired.
